Forest ecologist turned nature-based, somatic therapist—I have been leading therapeutic and life-enriching experiences in Nature for the past 25 years. After receiving a Master’s in Forest Resources, I began the journey of fusing my passion and knowledge of land conservation and restoration with Nature’s wisdom teachings for profound personal healing and transformation.
My passion is incorporating the science of somatic therapy, nature therapy, and mindfulness into a healing modality that leads to sustainable, long-term restoration of the nervous system and mental clarity, reclamation of the body, and reawakening of the spirit.
As a scientist, my research was in land reclamation, and as a therapist, a lot of the work I do with my nature therapy clients mirrors that process. As with drastically disturbed land, the challenges of life can leave many of us feeling internally barren or numb, lacking vitality and creativity, and feeling devoid of life’s beauty and richness. There are similar broad strokes to both the reclamation of land and the inner landscape of humans. I have discovered that a key part of our reclamation journey happens through connection with Nature.
Davidson, NC, is where I call home, I love to end the day by sitting around the dinner table with family and friends. Backpacking, trail running, traveling, gardening, time with friends, and Nature keep my fire stoked.
