..

Do you remember a time in your life when you felt in the flow? When you noticed synchronicities and created space to glean the wisdom and aliveness of these moments. Perhaps you felt like everything was coming together – you were aligned with your natural rhythm. for that brief moment in time – you

In these moments, life feels like it is full of opportunities. You weren’t trying to paddle your boat upstream, but you directed your bow into the current of life with ease. Life seemed to conspire to keep you afloat and guide you in the direction that opened your heart and allowed your gifts to flow outward.

What happened? OR Have you ever experienced this?

Conditioned fears from your family and community began to creep in, or perhaps this shadow has always caused you to “fight against” the current of life.

Perceived “shoulds” also cause you to get off course.

Stressors…cause barriers to go up and close you off from being in the flow.

With all of this working against you, how could you possibly stay in alignment with your natural rhythm or a natural flow?

Spring has arrived – and with the sap literally rising and life returning all around – it is the perfect time for newness and fresh beginnings to stir within you. The time is right for you to reclaim your natural rhythm.

But you might say… we are on the brink of a 3rd world war and recovering from the chaos that Covid caused.

My response… the world needs you – for you to unlock your gifts and let them flow through you to a very parched world. Your special sauce is like none other – and when you reclaim your natural rhythm – this goodness, whatever it is – is just what the world needs right now. WE NEED YOU.

So game on.

3 Ways to Reclaim Your Natural Rhythm

  1. Restore internal balance or homeostasis with Adaptogens.
  • Adaptogens are specific plants or mushrooms that support the body and psychology to “adapt” to stressful circumstances. Renowned herbalist David Winston summarizes adaptogens as, “producing a nonspecific defensive response to stress, and have a normalizing influence on the body.”
  • If this excites you, please check out his book: Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief
  • My favorite adaptogens for stress relief and rebalancing are ashwagandha, eleuthero, holy basil, reishi, Rhodiola. **Before taking any supplements, please check for contraindications and with your healthcare provider.
  1. Feel your body and reclaim your breath – sit out in nature.
  • This practice gets you to slow down, feel what you are feeling, connect with your body and emotions, and receive input from the natural world that will support you in being in the present moment – The present moment is where you experience your natural rhythm
  • Begin by feeling your feet on the ground, and if sitting, feel your sit bones making contact with the seat.
  • Bring your awareness to your breath. Notice your chest rising and falling, stomach expanding and contracting, breath moving in and out of nostrils.
  • Now gather with your senses the gifts of nature all around you and allow nature to support you in dwelling in the present moment.
  1. Extended time unplug – yes, stop the input from the human world.
  • It’s hard to reclaim your flow if there is a constant external input. YOU get lost amongst all the noise.
  • 1 once a week, starting with an hour and trying to build up. If you could extend this to a 1/2 day or a full day, this would be a major power move to restore your nervous system and reclaim your natural rhythm.
  • During this time, be entirely off all devices.
  • If you can spend some of this time outside, even better.
  • If you find yourself ruminating on thoughts without the input, try journalling, moving your body, or working on a garden
  • Create a retreat for yourself, or join us!

Please keep me posted on how reclaiming your natural rhythm goes! Also, it would be my honor to support you with getting back into your flow during a spring retreat or one on one.
